Join us for our present preaching series on the book of I Peter. It is called "Rocky's Words of Wisdom". To take a quote from Rocky Balboa, "Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward." Peter, the original Rocky (His name means petros, or rock), tells it to us like it is. He was a man who got knocked down and kept getting back up and he is also speaking to people who are in difficult times and situations. He doesn't "whitewash" the truth but speaks to them (and us) directly and with great relevance. Pastor Dave seeks to bring out this relevance in todays context so we can grab hold of its truths and apply them to our own lives.

Questions?: Someone once said, "We are all given a certain amount of things to do in this life and right no I'm so far behind I'll never die!" I can relate and maybe you can too. Does life seem like it's running you instead of you running it? Is your life in 5th gear and you feel like your in 3rd, just trying to keep up, yet knowing your are falling behind? Struggling with the guilt of it all? Struggling with your priorities? What's the right decesion? Which way to go? Knowing you need a change but just not sure how to do it! These are good questions to ask...and ones we are trying to deal with and answer at Crosslands. The Northeast, and especially New York, is a different place to live than much of USA. We get it. And because most of us have been here all of our lives we understand the unique pressures here. We want to help find answers to these tough questions then live them out, doing life together! We invite you to join us in the journey!

Well, we have met six different places in our ten years of existence. We began in Mahopac, then were in Shrub Oak, moved to Yorktown Heights next (and occassionally in Croton-on-Hudson) followed by Putnam Valley! Presently, we have come back to our beginnings and to Mahopac. We now meet at the “Lake Baldwin Community House”, located at 109 Lake Baldwin Drive, Mahopac, NY. Our regular Sunday service from 10:15-11:30am (There is a childrens church provided up to 3rd grade). Our small groups meet in private homes throughout the community, from Mahopac to Peekskill. Check out the Crosslands fellowship page for more details on the small groups. Directions can be mapquested or coming from JV Mall on Route 6, you want to drive about 3 miles on Route 6 and make a left at “The Tool Nut” then proceed aprox. 1/4 mile to “The Lake Baldwin Community House” which will be on your right. Look for Crosslands Community Church signs or call Pastor Dave at 914-772-5508.

This page is going to contain customizable google maps directions

We meet every Sunday morning from 10:15-11:30am for our weekly Worship service.  There is a coffee available prior to, during and following the service and usually an assortment of bagels and breakfast foods after the service. We meet during the week at different homes for various small groups.  We have groups for men, women, a recovery group for men, two different youth ministries and a childrens program called SEEDS.

Come casual. God is more concerned about the attitude of our hearts than what is on the outside and if you come with a tie on you will feel over dressed!

It’s not an easy thing visiting a church for the first time, never knowing what to expect so we want you to know! You can expect to meet friendly people, have a cup of coffee and a donut or bagel, hear contemporary music led by musicians on the guitar, bass, violin and drums, an occasional multi-media or drama presentations, and a biblical message with practical application to everyday life.

We have a great children’s program too - SEEDS meets during our service (toddlers through 2nd grade and another class for 3-5th). The kids spend the first several songs with the adults then join their own program with age appropriate biblical application. There are numerous home groups throughout the week and occassional special classes offered.  Visit the SEEDS link.

We do have two seperate youth programs.  Crosslife Youth Group is for Junior and Senior highers and meets throughout the year. LifeSkills is our outreach program for kids 10-14 years old during the Summer months (May through September).  They have thought-provoking discussions and terrific events. Check out their links.

    The Virtual vs the Actual

Exhibit A Suppose you wake up one morning and a word is oddly resonating in your head; you pray and a particular family pops into your head and you cannot shake the resonating word and the image of that family.  Oddly enough when you give in and pray the word over the family you have [...]
